Message 1 - The Herreid School has a diagnosed case of hand, foot, and mouth disease and several recent cases of STREP. Please monitor your child for fever, sore throat, mouth sores and sores or rash on the hands and feet. We have been in touch with the clinic - cont. message 2
Once again, no on-site school in Herreid today(4/2). Along with neighboring schools the decision was based on deteriorating road conditions. We will have a remote learning day. Your child has their assignments. We are thankful for the moisture & pray for the newborn calves. Stay safe!
There will be NO ON-SITE SCHOOL in Herreid today, April 2. The Herreid School will have a remote learning day. The teachers and students prepared for remote learning yesterday and it will be implemented today. The roads have rapidly deteriorated and so remote learning in Herreid.
The Herreid School will have a 10:00 AM start tomorrow morning (April 2). This will allow the state and county plows to clear the slush off the paved roads and give our bus drivers daylight driving. Once again, there will be a 10:00 AM start on Wednesday, April 2.

Tomorrow, Thursday, February 20 will be a 10:30 AM late start for the Herreid School as the frigid temps are supposed to hold on for one last morning. This will allow the buses and student drivers time to get vehicles started, warmed up, and drive in daylight. The 40 degree temps are just around the corner!!!

Due to the National Weather Service's forecasted temperatures of -40 wind chill in our area tomorrow morning, the Herreid School will have a 10:00 AM start tomorrow morning (2/13).
Some changes for the high school music contest tomorrow: Girls group- 10:06, Duet - 11:36. Everyone else is at their regular scheduled time.
Due to the -30 below forecasted temperatures, the Herreid School will have a 9:00 AM start tomorrow morning (2/12). The music students will leave at 9:00 AM for their contest.
Good evening - With the wind chill index forecasted at -40 below tomorrow morning, the Herreid School will have a 10:00 AM start. Once again, the Herreid School will have a 10:00 AM start on Tuesday, February 11.
Herreid School will have a 10:00 AM start today. There is plenty of snow/drifts on the north/south roads. We will give the state and county plows some time to clear the main roads. Once again, we will have a 10:00 AM start on Monday, Feb. 3.
(Part 2) A short term dishwasher valve issue was fixed last semester and the sanitizer has always worked properly. The dishwasher lady does a great job and we are glad to have her. Thank you for being kind and not spreading false and partial information. Have a great day!
The kitchen staff was made aware of a false rumor claiming the school dishwasher isn't working properly, that trays are not being sanitized & it is causing illness to be spread. To the contrary, hot water & sanitizer are being used to wash all dishes. The dishwasher has been inspected by the plumbers. (Part 1)
The Herreid School will have a 10:00 AM start tomorrow morning (1/21/25) due to one more morning of an extreme wind chill factor. Stay safe and stay warm. It only takes exposed skin 10-15 minutes to develop frostbite in these wind chill aided temps!
Schedule for tomorrow's doubleheader in Selby: The JV GBB vs. South Border game will begin at 4:00 pm and it will be a rolling schedule following that game in the following order: JV BBB vs. Potter Co, Varsity GBB vs. South Border and then Varsity BBB vs. Potter Co.
This evening's scheduled GBB game in Selby with South Border has been moved to tomorrow in Selby and will be played as part of a doubleheader along with the BBB team and their matchup with Potter County. Also, there are no practices this evening.
