Herreid School District 10-1 is taking applications for:
Custodian - Application Deadline: Friday, August 29
Hours:
8 hours per day
5 days per week
261 days - 12 months
Requirements:
Clean and maintain areas of a school building such as sweeping, emptying waste baskets, mopping, vacuuming, minor repairs, setting up for events and take downs
Prompt, regular and reliable attendance
Able to lift 60 lbs.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Mechanical ability would be a plus
Ability to plan for, and around events. Organizational skills are a must
Other duties included but are not limited to: Athletic Fields and School Grounds.

Health Insurance: Employees can choose from health plans to help cover medical needs for themselves and their families. The district currently pays $607 a month towards health coverage.
Life Insurance is available Employees get free life insurance to $10,000, which provides money for their family if something happens to them while employed with the district. Additionally, your spouse and dependent children to age twenty-six are also covered. There is also LTD insurance available to help if they can't work due to illness or injury for an extended period.
South Dakota Retirement: Employees are enrolled in a state pension plan funded at 6% by the school and 6& by the employee.
Special Conditions:
Two weeks (10 days) of vacation. (Maximum of 5 days during the school year.)
12 sick days annually. Maximum accrual of 60 days
Three (3) personal days. Maximum accrual of six (6).
The selected employee is expected to follow / execute duties as established.

Classified Staff (1 Position) -
These positions will require some basic computer skills and the ability to work well with students, staff, and administration. The administration will assign the duties for these positions, which may include assisting in elementary classrooms, the special education department, study hall supervision, lunchroom assistance, recess duty and other duties as assigned. Wage will depend on experience. Questions about these positions may be directed to Superintendent Tom Rice at 605-437-2263.
